Please join Fluxus LLC CEO Ms. Fanyu Lin, who will co-chair a forum on “Investment in US Infrastructure and Development of an Inclusive Community for All” on Monday October 9, 2017 at the state-of-the-art Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center in Columbia University.

“US-China Collaboration on Investment and Development in US Infrastructure” forum is organized by Office of New York City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, and Chinese Association for Science and Technology USA (CAST-USA).

This event will highlight a timely discussion about the future opportunities of infrastructure related, collaborative development between the US and China, featuring a number of important projects, including the Inwood NYC 2017 Action Plan.

This Action Plan was unveiled by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Mr. James Patchett, and New York City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez in June 2017, which outlined neighborhood-wide goals and strategies that will build on Inwood’s strengths and opportunities for investment and development, while addressing the pressing challenges.

On October 9th, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will present a keynote on developing and investing in Northern Manhattan; then, followed by a keynote from Chairman of US Management Committee of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Mr. Xiao Yuqiang addressing lessons and experience of investment and development collaborations from the China side.

A group of experts, including Executive Vice President of RXR Realty and Former President of New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) Mr. Seth Pinsky, and Columbia University Armstrong Professor of Civil Engineering and Former Commissioner of New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) Dr. Feniosky Peña-Mora, will discuss strategies and successful case studies on Public-Private Partnerships for infrastructure investment and transit-oriented development, that include the Hudson Yards redevelopments.

A group of leaders in real estate development and investment as well as cultural organizations, including Mr. Thomas McKnight, Executive Vice President and Head of Planning, Development, and Transportation of NYCEDC, will come together to strategize about development approaches that are inclusive to support affordable housing, foster art, technology and entrepreneurship, and to expand economic opportunities, while improving neighborhood livability.

The forum will be opened by Co-Director of Columbia University ACTION Lab and President of CAST-USA Greater New York Chapter Dr. Charles Shen, Columbia University Executive Vice President and Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine Dr. Lee GoldmanUS Congressman Adriano Espaillat, and New York State Senator Marisol Alcantara, and along with other officials and guests.
